The retail industry is the largest single industry providing employment within Australia. It is made up of 3 main sub-divisions: food retailing, personal / household goods and motor vehicle servicing / retailing. The industry is primarily small to medium businesses (employing less than 200 employees) and has provided many young people with their first employment experience.
