Retail is an exciting and challenging career choice with lots of variety. If you enjoy interacting with customers and working within a fast paced environment there are many different industry sectors and career paths that may suit you. Maxima currently offers training in Retail Services at Certificate II and III level.

Characteristics of the retail industry workforce
The retail industry is the largest single industry providing employment within Australia. It is made up of 3 main sub-divisions: food retailing, personal / household goods and motor vehicle servicing / retailing. The industry is primarily small to medium businesses (employing less than 200 employees) and has provided many young people with their first employment experience.
There are a number of jobs within the retail industry including:
- selling
- customer service
- merchandising
- operations
- staff supervison and;
- store management.
