Traineeships and Apprenticeships, also known as Australian Apprenticeships, are a combination of paid work and quality, structured training designed to give you an edge in the employment market.

Apprenticeships are a great way to set yourself up for your chosen profession. You will receive a nationally recognised qualification that gives you a big advantage in the job market because it tells employers you have both the practical experience and the training employers need.

Apprenticeships provide a way of getting started in more than 500 professions, which include traditional trades and a wide range of other careers, and can lead to further education and training options in the future. They involve a commitment of 12 months to 4 years, depending on the Australian Apprenticeship that you choose.

Although most apprenticeships are full-time, some may be available part-time and it’s even possible to start while you’re still at school.

Eligibility is open to anyone 15 years or older, but like any other job, you’ll stand a better chance of gaining an Australian Apprenticeship if you have completed Year 12, vocational studies at school or have work experience in the industry.

You’ll find more information about Australian Apprenticeships in our fact sheets or register now. There is also a short video in the employer's pages of this site that explains Maxima's role as a Group Training Organisation.
